​Using acrylic paint, digital illustration and mixed media, I create bold, expressive artwork inspired by the animated shows, picture books and video games I grew up with. Sometimes the goal is to indulge in nostalgia, while other times I want to feel close to my father who passed from brain cancer in 2020. As a kid, my dad would draw with me, watch cartoons with me, and share his action figures with me. He’d also explain the backstories of his favorite heroes and villains to help me navigate the gray areas between “good” and “bad” in life. The stories my dad told, again and again, have stayed with me, and I like to explore their themes in my work. These include revenge, personal growth, power and responsibility.

In addition to these themes, a motif that has grown to mean a lot to me in my work is cats. This is a reflection of my appreciation for them, but also a nod to the importance I find in maintaining curiosity and playfulness in my practice. 

Curiosity has been a positive, motivating factor in my career. Earning my Master of Science in Themed Experience has helped me feed my interest in theme parks, large-scale operations and immersive storytelling. Earning my B.A. in Art and Design was a prerequisite to this program, and it is an experience that helped me fall in love with painting and fine art.

Today, I seek out projects that allow me to chase my curiosity and embrace the benefits of play while exploring the dualities of the human experience. I offer originals and affordable reproductions of my work including prints, clothing and other merchandise, and to get the most out of my creative practice, I like to share it with you.
